Speed North Inc. was founded in 2008 by John Konigshofer and Mike Konigshofer. The business operation may be new, but both John and Mike are no strangers to the racing industry. Speed North opened its doors in response to a growing need to service the Canadian racing enthusiast. The online store will ensure that gearheads around the world can have access to high performance parts and accessories at affordable price points.
Mike and John share a passion for racing, engine building and anything that moves at the speed of light. They have been with Konigshofer Motorsports for more than 20 years – a family-run race team that has tons of hardware to back-up their successes.
Konigshofer Motorsports is the most recognized name in ProStock racing in Canada. John and Mike are as committed as ever to the success of the race team and Speed North will enable them to bring their passion and profession together as they share their knowledge with their customers.
Speed North’s core services include after market performance parts, both online and in-store, engine building, dyno services, accessory installations and tuning. The 6,000 square foot shop houses a super flow engine dynamometer, various welders, several milling machines and two race cars. What better way to ‘track-test’ the merchandise.
Meet Mike:
Mike Konigshofer is President of Speed North. He has been exposed to racing all of his life through Konigshofer Motorsports. Mike holds diplomas from Conestoga College in Quality Assurance, Industrial Engineering and Business. In 2007 he graduated with a Business Degree from Northwood University in Michigan.
Mike will head up Speed North’s online store. He has 11 years of OEM Manufacturing Management experience and is ready for the challenge of operating a business that allows him to channel all of his skills with his passion – racing. In 2009 Mike will make the transition from crew member to driver as he is fielding an 1989 Ford Mustang in NMRA Hot Street and NMCA ProStock divisions.
Meet John:
John Konigshofer is VP of Speed North. He will specialize in the technical operation and serves as the Lead Engine Builder. John has been behind the wheel of Canada’s fastest ProStock car for more than 20 years. The past 20 years have seen him driving for Konigshofer Motorsports in the IHRA, ProStock division. The team’s accolades are numerous. John has been named CASCAR Engine Builder of the Year twice and is highly regarded in the industry on both sides of the border.

Online orders ship within 48-hours. All orders are processed within 24 hours of receipt.
Speed North does handle special orders and will work on each transaction on a one-on-one basis as timeframes vary dependent on manufacturer’s availability.
